Caroline is a member from St. Neots who came to Include Fitness feeling anxious about returning to training after a hip replacement.
The Challenge
Before working with us, Caroline had a solid level of fitness — but everything changed after her surgery.
Like many people recovering from a major procedure, she felt uncertain about what she could safely do.
She wanted to get back to strength training, but didn’t know where to start or how far to push herself without risking injury.
Why She Nearly Didn’t Start
Like many of our clients, Caroline was sceptical.
She wasn’t sure if she’d be able to return to lifting properly, or if classes would be too intense for her situation.
After time away, the thought of stepping back into a gym environment felt daunting.
The Turning Point
Once she returned, everything changed.
Caroline quickly realised that at Include Fitness, every session is adapted to the individual.
The coaching team worked closely with her to rebuild strength safely — especially around her hip — and adjusted exercises to suit her ability.
She also found something just as important: support.
From coaches to other members, she was encouraged every step of the way — especially as she started lifting heavier again.
The Results
Since returning to training, Caroline has achieved:
✅ Rebuilt strength following a hip replacement
✅ Returned to deadlifting strong, challenging weights
✅ Improved her squat technique and confidence
✅ Gained reassurance and trust in her body again
✅ Felt supported and motivated by both coaches and members
Here’s what she had to say:
“It doesn’t matter your age or your fitness — you’re covered. The classes are worked around what you can do, and you’re always encouraged. I was really anxious coming back after my hip replacement, but now I’m deadlifting good weights again and getting stronger each week.”
What This Means for You
